Senior Engineer
Chris is a professional engineer with over 40 years of experience in fire protection. He has experience with a wide variety of life safety systems including fire sprinkler, fire pump, standpipe, clean agent, fire alarm, mass notification, and smoke control systems, for both large and small fire protection contractors and engineering firms in a wide variety of markets and facilities including industrial, oil & gas, aerospace, DoD, commercial, and residential. His experience also includes hazardous materials classification and assessments, life safety assessments, smoke control rational analysis, smoke control modeling, and smoke control special inspector.
He has served as Director (2022-2024) on the SFPE Board of Directors, Past-Governor (2017-2020) on the SFPE Foundation’s Board of Governors, and a co-author on the SFPE 2020 Guidelines for Peer Review in The Fire Protection Design Process. He serves as Governor (2024-2025) on the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Board of Governors under the auspices of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE).
Additionally, he served as Past-Director (2010-2014) on the Board of Directors for the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) Certified Fire Protection Specialists (CFPS) Program, Past-Member on the CFPS Certification Advisory Group (CAG) for NFPA, and Past-Administrator (2021-2022) for the Fire Protection Practice Specialty (FPPS) of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).
He currently participates as a Principal Technical Committee Member on NFPA 1, Fire Code (FCC); NFPA 101, Life Safety Code (SAF), and NFPA 5000, Building Code (BLD).
