Principal
Keith Calder is a professional engineer with 20 years of experience in fire protection engineering. He is well practiced in complex transportation matters pertaining to transit infrastructure throughout Canada and internationally. He has developed risk-based approaches to establishing credible design fires for evaluation of emergency tunnel ventilation systems and is currently involved in reviewing upgrades to TransLink facilities.
He has extensively studied material fire properties relative to use in buildings and in transportation systems particularly as it relates to ignition and fire spread. He is currently doing research on quantifying the risk of fire spread relative to the acceptable risk basis in building codes at the University of Waterloo, while continuing to practice as a fire consultant.
