SenezCo is a boutique, independent fire science and engineering firm providing services worldwide to public and private clients. SenezCo staff has experience with transit systems in Canada, the United States, and around the world. Our staff are active committee members on NFPA 130, Standard for Fixed Guideway Transit and Passenger Rail Systems.

Our team has collaborated with many architectural and engineering firms on large-scale transportation projects and provides certification and code compliance services related to fire and life safety, emergency egress, and station and guideway designs.

SenezCo has offices in Canada, the United States and France, with professional engineers licensed to practice engineering in most provinces in Canada.

Fire Protection System Design

SenezCo has experience in design, installation, inspection and contract administration of fire suppression and fire detection systems in a wide range of markets from residential to heavy industrial. We have advised on the certification of the OCC as a ULC S561 proprietary supervising station, IANS system replacement, and P1 mic code analysis.

Building and Fire Code Consulting

We have in-depth knowledge of the origin of building and fire codes and their application to all building types. We also provide performance-based alternatives, leveraging our code derivation background, to provide safe but cost-effective solutions.
Our staff have acted as the Building Code Review Agent on Brentwood Station Phase 1 and Phase 2 and are involved with the Broadway Subway Project and development of the Evergreen RFP. On Canada Line, our staff acted as the Guideway Code Review Consultant providing oversight of the approval process for the guideway elements.

Ventilation Modeling

Our knowledge in the analysis and design of underground tunnel and station ventilation systems provides us the ability to review these specific sub systems in conjunction with the holistic fire life safety strategy.

Pedestrian flow and circulation are key design considerations for transit facilities. Coupled with the design of the emergency egress system, an optimized solution can be provided that meets normal circulation flow demands and life safety requirements.

SenezCo have extensive experience in cause and origin and system failure analyses. Our experts have attended hundreds of fire scenes and have testified as expert witnesses. Our real-world exposure to design failure helps to provide a pragmatic approach to design and to manage future loss.
